Only a few hours on it today. Chopped out the strengthening plate and then cleaned up and zinc primed the chassis rails. It looks in great nick which makes a nice change!

It’s been a while since I cut a big hole in the van so it’s time to sort the N/S cab floor:
and a little while later:
The chassis is in excellent condition so I’ll just clean it up and paint it. The strengthening plate is heavily pitted and starting to rust through so I’ve made a new one:
The wheel tub where it meets the floor hadn’t rusted up too far either so I’ll only need a small repair here:
The N/S front wheel tub needed a fair bit of work but it was very salvageable.
First up I made a new seat mount as the old one was toast:
Then the Schofield’s seat belt mount repair went in:
A fair bit of the tub needed cutting out to repair it properly:
Then spend hours making up a well fitting repair complete with pressings:
And all welded up and painted. Good as new!
Started chopping out the rot on the N/S wheel tub. It’ll need a new seat belt mount, a large repair to the area under the runner and I’ll need to make up a new seat runner as this one is toast.
Pulled a ridiculously long day today getting the N/S front arch in. Miles better than what was there, it did put up quite a fight though!
Next bit of the bulkhead repaired. I only had to use a sliver of the Schofields bulge repair panel as most of the bulge was fine. Some of the welds need some further dressing yet:
And I epoxied all of the bits that I zinc primed the other night:
Not much to show this week but progressing still. I’ve started closing up the bulkhead and B pillar on the N/S, working my way down the area.
I’ve only repaired the bits that sit above the wheel tub and then a small bit beneath it thus far:
The cab floor repair pieces arrived this week so I decided to get some zinc primer on the underside/inside of all the little bits that are sitting around the workshop at the minute (I’ll epoxy them at the weekend and then hopefully finish the bulkhead and wheel tub repairs):
Cab floors:
Cab floor middle piece, outer rear valance and outer sliding door repair:
Bulkhead bulge piece (only the ends properly painted as I won’t need the centre), closing panels for the front arches, seatbelt mounts and repair for the O/S bulkhead.
Not much progress over the weekend due to my sore throat, but I did get the N/S inner and outer front arch welded together.
