A slow Sunday’s work following a great few days away camping in swanage with the family and my oldest friend and his missus.

Today I finished repairing the last hole in the threshold piece, and gave it a coat of etchweld, ready for the floor to go in this week (at long last!!!).

And made up some repairs for the strengtheners around the rear arches. The bit that I had to cut off the N/S floor for the threshold edge already had a bend in it, so I just cut it down to size.

This weekend I have been mostly prepping and painting panels.

First up the repair to the front of the rear wheel tub. The wheel tub isn’t in too bad condition, and I even found some fresh paint.

Repair cut to size and trial fitted. Nice not to have to replace the whole thing for once.

Trial fit of the N/S floor panel, starting to look more van shaped in the cargo area:

And out with the spray gear:

Epoxymasticated the wheel tub repair:

and the floor:

Trial fit of the N/S floor half. Things are getting exciting!

Welds dressed on the O/S panel tonight. It’ll need a light application of filler to get it perfect, but for my first large panel I’m pretty happy.

O/S side panel welded shut tonight. Took the best part of 2.5 hrs to avoid distorting the panel. I’ve started dressing the weld but it was 8:45 when I left so it’ll have to wait for tomorrow.

Today’s row of sexy plug welds for the outer sill (I’ll grind these down once I’ve finished the join to the middle panel), followed by workshop pasta cooked by Max (she came down to start prepping the N/S floor pan plug weld holes for me).

Max on Seam sealing duties today.

All of the O/S bits are now finished, ready for the O/S panel and outer sill.

Some more repairs this week on the O/S.

Inner repairs on C pillar completed, and small repair to outer ready to weld in:

Outer ready to go on. I’ve put some paint on the inside so will get this welded in tonight. Doesn’t look too bad to me.

Closing panel for O/S zinc primed. Will epoxy tonight.
