Last section of the shell all primed now, underneath the boot and under the heater channels.

Now begins the mammoth task of rubbing all the primer down and getting the panels flat. Max has been coming down the last few weeks to help out with this stage. What a trooper!

A quick dash down the workshop after work today to get the front into primer.

I almost forgot to weld the horn mount back in after chopping it out for the baja cut! Decided to weld it in the now redundant windscreen washer bottle panel.

I’ve convinced Max to come down over the next few weekends to help rub down the primer ready for paint and raptor. She’ll hate it by the end!

Baja drivers door primed, and started stripping the boot area for some primer. I was originally planning to top coat the boot but think I’ll just paint it with raptor instead as it will suit the rugged look of the bug and save on some prep time.

A hot sweaty mess today stripping the inside of the baja ready for primer. Reprimed the passenger door and got the front wings all primed too.

Got the roof, engine bay and passenger door into primer today. Nice to see the outside of the shell all in one colour again!

Baja roof all bare metalled today. Exposed a few more holes around the windscreen and rear window apertures but nothing too bad.

Bonnet all blocked flat and ready for top coat now.

Getting there with prepping the baja’s fibreglass bolt on panels for paint. Nose and engine cover block sanded and ready for top coat now.

I need to get a jog on with getting this ready for paint if I want to get it painted this year!

If anyone is ever bored on a Saturday and wants to help strip some paint give me a shout!

A little more primer today. N/S and rear wings epoxied and high build primed.

It’s always satisfying seeing things starting to go into primer. O/S, bonnet, engine cover and nose all epoxied and high build primed today.
