N/S rear quarter welding complete
N/S rear quarter all finished off last night. Now just to repeat this on the other side.

Inner arch welding
Lots of metal going back into the baja. N/S front arch pretty much done and have made a good start on the N/S rear quarter and O/S front arch.
Rear bench assembly
Rear bench frames back from the powder coaters this week and new covers fitted. 😎 Note to self: wear gloves next time as I stabbed myself so many times on the evil hooks that hold the back cover on.
Reupholstered sunvisors
Just finished reupholstering the Baja’s sunvisors to match the rest of the interior as the old ones had no sponginess left in the foam. Much nicer!
Fuel tank filler recess trial fit
Fuel tank filler recess had seen better days so out with the old and a trial fit of the new. As always it needed a fair bit of trimming to fit nicely and to get the flap to sit flush with the body.
Repair panels into epoxy
A lovely sunny day down the yard today so got this batch of repair panels and the hidden sections on the shell painted with epoxy. Made a start on welding the first one in.
Inner quarter panel repair
Finished repairing the quarter panel inners over the weekend. I ended up removing the O/S seatbelt mounts as rust had crept in between them and I wanted to repair them properly. Rear bench cover
Finished up the back of the rear bench today and trial fitted it to the frame. It’s passed schnauzer quality control! Feel I’m definitely getting better at upholstery but I’m forever my harshest critic.
Quarter panel repairs
Quarter panel repairs trimmed to perfection. I’ve a few repairs to make to the inners of the quarters before I can weld these in.
Seat cover test fit
Couldn’t resist test fitting the first seat cover! The baja’s interior is going to look pretty special I think.
