Having owned, driven and camped in classic VWs for the best part of 10 years, Ray Ley Restorations was formed from our love of keeping old classic cars on the road and finding our own adventures wherever we can. Keen to use classic cars everyday, as they were originally intended, and not tucked away for special occasions, we aim to build practical yet eye-catching classics.

Our own ’72 bay window camper was taken off the road in late 2015 for a “Light Restoration”. This soon escalated into a full restoration with all welding, paint prep, paint and interior work carried out by us over a period of 4+ years. The skills developed over the course of the restoration resulted in us buying our second resto project and beginning to offer our services to other classic car enthusiasts.
